Canadian Minister For International Pacific Economic Development Commends MNJTF

The Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) has been applauded for its determination to flush out the remnants of the Boko Haram ISWAP Terrorists in the Lake Chad Basin region.

The Canadian Minister for International Development responsible for the Pacific Economic Development Agency Mr Harjit Singh Sajjan gave the commendation when he paid a courtesy visit to Headquarters of the MNJTF in N’Djamena Chad.

A statement by the Chief Military Public Information Officer MNJTF N’Djamena, Lieutenant Colonel Kamarudeen Adegoke said Mr Sajjan noted that the MNJTF had contributed immensely towards bringing peace and security to the region while adding that the operations conducted in recent times had reduced the excesses of the BH/ISWAP Terrorists.

He praised the leadership of the MNJTF for its robust and decisive planning which he said translated into the result oriented operations conducted by the Force to end the activities of the terrorists.

Earlier, the Deputy Force Commander MNJTF Brigadier General Assoualai Blama appreciated the minister and his team for the visit and stated that the MNJTF will not relent in its efforts to eradicating terrorism and Insurgency in the Lake Chad Basin region.

He stated further that part of the strategies to combat terrorism was the concept of non-kinetic activities the MNJTF conducts which according to him has been yielding positive results.

He reaffirmed the resolve of the MNJTF to end the scourge of BH/ISWAP Terrorism in the Lake Chad Basin region.
