In commemoration of the 2026 World Cancer Day, the wife of the Nigerian President, Oluremi Tinubu is seeking for more preventative measures against the disease.
She made the call in her message to mark the day emphasising the fact that those battling with the disease must have access to quality treatment.
She said: “Today, on this World Cancer Day 2026, with the theme “UnitedByUnique,” let us be reminded that every cancer journey is different, yet our hope is shared.
“By listening to individual stories and placing people at the centre of care, we can build a stronger, more compassionate response to cancer, one rooted in prevention, early detection, access to quality treatment, and sustained support.”
Mrs Tinubu also called for sustained effort and collaboration in fighting cancer.
“Together, by uniting our voices and actions, we can move closer to a cancer-free future for all,” she said.
