Capacity Building: Aerospace University signs MoU with NSIB

The African Aviation and Aerospace University AAAU has signed a Memorandum of Understanding MoU with Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau NSIB on Facility sharing for capacity building to promote civil aviation industry in Nigeria and Africa at large.

After signing the MoU at the institution main campus in Abuja the nation’s capital, the Registrar  Mustapha Sheikh Abdullahi represented  by Mr, Masud Aliyu, Director Physical Planning and Works expressed gratitude for the invaluable support and collaboration extended to the  University by Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau NSIB.

He said without the assistance and partnership of NSIB, the establishment and progress of the institution would have been significantly more difficult.

“With a dedicated team, we embarked on a mission fueled by determination and resilience, it was through the benevolence of your predecessor at NSIB that in January 2023, we were granted access to the facility that now serves as our temporary campus. 

“This act of kindness laid the groundwork for our collaborative efforts, which have evolved into a fruitful partnership over time. The relationship between AAAU and NSIB has been characterized by warmth, support, and mutual respect, and we are committed to nurturing and strengthening this bond in the years ahead,” the Registrar added.

The Director General and Chief Executive officer Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau NSIB Captain Alex Badeh said the partnership was achieved after various discussions and meetings was held  between the sisters agencies and  agreed to share the  Facilities and its components.

“It is hoped that the MOU will encourage and facilitate productivity in our collaboration and commitment to promoting safer skies and operational excellence in the aviation industry in Nigeria and beyond.”

The African Aviation and Aerospace University was established in 2022  during former President Muhammadu Buhari Administration with the mandate to effectively strengthening Civil Aviation sector and reduce the cost of study in foreign countries by Nigerians and Africa. Presently the institution has enrolled thirty undergraduate students,  alongside seventy-seven registered postgraduate students.
