CHAN Eagles to miss Algeria 2023

Nigeria’s Eagles B will not be at the 2023 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) to be held in Algeria.

They lost 5-4 on penalties to the Ghanaian Galaxies at the MKO Abiola stadium in Abuja

This was despite overturning a 2-0 deficit from the first leg in Cape Coast – thanks to goals from Zulkifilu Mohammed in the 76th minute and Chijioke Akuneto in the 94th minute.

This will be the second consecutive CHAN Nigeria will not feature.

They reached the 2018 final – losing 4-0 to hosts Morocco, while finishing third at the 2014 edition held in South Africa.
