Chelsea Boss, Tuchel to get £200 million transfer budget

Thomas Tuchel will be given a massive £200 million transfer kitty with the Chelsea boss already eyeing up three big additions.

The Blues spent around £220 million last summer as they snapped up the likes of Timo Werner and Champions League final hero Kai Havertz.

It appears that Chelsea owner, Roman Abramovich will have another transfer splurge as he plans to back Tuchel in the summer following their European triumph over Manchester City last weekend.

The German, who is set to be rewarded with a bumper new contract, is thought to be keeping tabs on Romelu Lukaku, Declan Rice, and Adama Traore.

Lukaku spent three seasons on the books at Chelsea before sealing a move to Everton, where he enjoyed a prolific spell that earned him a switch to Manchester United.

Chelsea wants to re-sign their former player with the Inter Milan forward potentially available due to the club’s dodgy financial situation.

Tuchel also wants a midfielder with former target Rice high on his transfer wish-list.

The West Ham captain starred last season with Man United thought to be keen on snapping him up too.

Chelsea’s Champions League-winning manager is also plotting a swoop for Traore with the Wolves man wanted as competition for Reece James at right-wing back.

Speaking about his side’s transfer plans, Tuchel expressed his desire to bring in “two or three” new players.

He said: “Two or three [signings] could be very, very good.

“It’s a constant thing to never deny change. That you always bring new energy, new guys who question the old beliefs, who challenge everybody in the training and in matches, so I think it’s a good thing.

“We don’t need another seven and another complete turnover because it’s also our job to keep on improving, because we have still a young squad and it’s not about stealing from them the chance to prove it again that they are capable of growing and evolving.

“But we have some ideas, of course, to make the group stronger and I think this can always be a positive thing to challenge all of us.”
