The 26-year-old, who arrived at Stamford Bridge on a four-year contract beginning on July 1, has made one appearance for England under-19s and has played 78 times in the Premier League.

He is the first player to join Chelsea since they announced the arrival of new head coach Enzo Maresca earlier this week, and will bolster their options at centre-back following the departure of veteran Thiago Silva.

Tosin Adarabioyo says he will “always fondly” remember his time at Fulham ahead of his free transfer to Chelsea.

The centre-back rejected multiple new contract offers in order to leave Fulham this summer as a free agent.

Newcastle entered talks with him, while Manchester United were also admirers, but Chelsea are understood to have offered better personal conditions than Newcastle and won the race to his signature.

Adarabioyo who joined Fulham from Manchester City in 2020, posted a statement on social media on Thursday, thanking Fulham fans and the club.

He said: “As a new chapter awaits, I’d just like to thank everyone at Fulham Football Club for the last four years.

“Together with the manager, staff, my teammates and supporters, we made some great memories that I’ll always hold fondly. I wish you all the best in the future.”
