The representatives of the Nigerian Government are meeting with the Organised Labour at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja, the nation’s capital, to avert the planned nationwide strike from October 3.
The meeting currently ongoing is being presided by the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila. The Ministers of Labour and other Ministers are attending the meeting.
The organised labour comprising the leaders of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) had announced a common ground to begin an indefinite strike on October 3rd, 2023.
The planned nationwide strike, among others, is to make the government address the plights of Nigerians as a result of the removal of petrol subsidy.
