China Aims for 18 billion Cubic Meters of Unconventional Water

China plans to utilize more than 18 billion cubic meters of unconventional water this year in a bid to bolster water conservation measures, according to the Ministry of Water Resources.

In addition to this ambitious goal, the nation is committed to enhancing the utilization rate of recycled water within water-scarce cities at the prefecture level and above, aiming to surpass 24 percent this year, as announced by the ministry.

Unconventional water sources, including recycled water, are increasingly recognized as vital supplements to traditional water resources.

Their development and utilization not only expand water supply but also curtail sewage discharge and enhance water use efficiency.
