China Commits $200 Million to Elevate Kebbi’s Yauri RIGATA Cultural Festival

The 2025 Yauri RIGATA Cultural Festival, set to take place from February 13 to 15 in Ya’uri, Kebbi State, is poised for a major uplift as Chinese investors have announced plans to inject $200 million into the event.

This investment is expected to enhance the festival’s scale, attract global attention, and boost local economic opportunities.
Alhaji Yakubu Bala Tafida, Secretary to the Kebbi State Governor and National Chairman of the Yauri Cultural Festival, revealed that the Rigatta Committee has been actively engaging with organizations and foreign embassies to attract investment. He emphasized that beyond its cultural significance, Yauri holds immense potential as a mining hub, making it an attractive destination for investors.
Now in its fourth edition, the festival will showcase an agricultural fair, cultural performances, and water displays, along with new innovations aimed at enhancing its national and global prominence.
Additionally, several sponsors have committed to fulfilling their corporate social responsibilities within the Yauri Emirate.
In honor of his dedication to the RIGATA Cultural Festival, the Emir of Yauri, Professor Muhammadu Zayyanu Abdullahi, has bestowed the traditional title of ‘Gamjin Yauri’ upon Governor Nasir Idris.
The 2025 edition of the festival is set to be a grand celebration, highlighting the vibrant cultural heritage of the Yauri Emirate.
Alhaji Yakubu Bala Tafida emphasized the symbolic importance of the hippopotamus presented to Governor Idris by the Emir during the 2024 Rigatta, describing it as a representation of strength and unity within the Yauri Emirate.
