The Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation has commenced the three-stage assessment for appointing new Permanent Secretaries with a written examination.
This is in continuation of President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to improving and sustaining effective delivery of services through appropriate and relevant 21st Century skills
The three-stage exercise follows the established tradition of a transparent and rigorous process, deliberately made to ensure that the very best among the candidates are appointed.
Results showed that 19 of the 38 eligible Directors who sat for the examinations scaled through the first stage and will participate in the second stage, which will test their competence in the use of Information Communication and Technology (ICT).

Subsequently, the process would culminate in the appointment from the best candidates representing the eight States of Abia, Bayelsa, Ebonyi, Enugu, Gombe, Kaduna, Kebbi and Rivers – where vacancies exist.
The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs Didi Esther Walson-Jack, congratulates all the 38 candidates and appreciates the continuous support of the Nigerian public in entrenching meritocracy in career progression in the Civil Service.
