The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Gabriel Taminu Aduda has reiterated the support of the Ministry to the vision and reform agenda of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs Folashade Yemi-Esan.
Aduda stated this in his address at the signing of the Performance Contract documents in line with the implementation of the Performance Management System (PMS) by some Directors and Heads of Departments and Units in the Ministry in Abuja.
In a statement issued by the Deputy Director, Press and Public Relations of the Petroleum Ministry, Oluwakemi Ogunmakinwa, the Permanent Secretary noted “We have worked very hard to see how we can run with the vision of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation because we totally believe in her vision concerning the reforms in the civil service, believing that the reforms will add value to the system’’.
Amb. Aduda also noted that he was blessed to have a very wonderful team starting from the Directors to the PMS Champions in the Ministry.
In resolving the challenge of huge staff involved, Aduda said efforts were being made to have people work in clusters so that everybody would be carried along in the actualization of the Ministry’s mandate as well as in helping to discover talents and bringing up innovation in line with the objectives of the Performance Management System.
He expressed appreciation to the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation for her commitment to the cause of PMS and the various reforms she had initiated.
Leader of the delegation from the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation and World Bank Consultant on PMS, Offiong Anyanwu in her remarks, commended the Ministry of Petroleum Resources for always being at the forefront of reform initiatives. She also praised the leadership and members of the PMS core team and champions in the Ministry for their commitment and dedication to the task.
Offiong therefore thanked the Permanent Secretary for his visionary leadership and commitment to the reforms of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation.
The highlight of the ceremony was the signing of the Performance Contract Agreement by the Directors and Heads of Departments and Units in the Ministry with the Permanent Secretary.
