As the 2025 Civil Week kicks off, the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs Didi Esther Walson-Jack describes infrastructure as a driver for productivity, discipline and national pride.

She stated this at the commissioning of the remodeled entrance foyer of the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

According to her, the project is a reminder that in the course of institutional progress, there arise moments that go beyond bricks and mortar.

” Moments that speak to our values, to our aspirations, and to our vision of the service we seek to build. This space, once a simple point of entry is now a statement of purpose”.

She noted that the structure now reflects the dignity, order, and professionalism that must define the Nigerian Civil Service.

The Head of Service added that it sets the tone not just for those who enter, but for the service culture that the Civil Service seeks to foster.

” I am particularly pleased that this initiative has been conceived and executed in a manner that demonstrates prudent planning, aesthetic sensibility, and above all, a deep understanding of symbolism in public administration”.

She explained that it is a visible expression of a deeper resolve to modernise the public service in grand and granular ways.

“We are reimagining the Civil Service as a dynamic engine of governance, one that is efficient, productive, incorruptible and citizen-centred. The transformation we seek must begin here within our walls, in our processes, in our attitudes, and yes, even in our workspaces”.

“We are moving forward, refining our systems, upgrading our standards, and reaffirming our identity as custodians of Nigeria’s administrative integrity”.

She further emphasised that commissioning the project is not merely an act of unveiling, but also a call to all Civil Servants across MDAs and across grade levels, to contribute actively to a service that works, that inspires, and that delivers.
