Anambra Civil Society Network (ACSONET) a foremost Citizens, Non State Actors and Stakeholders in Anambra has congratulated the governor of Anambra State, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo on his election as the National Leader of his Political Party, All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA).
Leader of the group, Prince Chris Azor who doubles as Citizens Co-chair Open Government Partnership (OGP) said it was a step in the right direction and an impetus to achieve giant strides.
“This is an elevation well deserved and a demonstration of his Party’s reposed confidence in his leadership qualities. It therefore, calls for more effort, as the saying goes, reward for hard work is more work,” he said.
Comrade Azor also called on the Governor to take advantage of his new position to galvanise effort towards intentional and purposeful national leadership and nation building.
The news of Governor Soludo’s election came through a release by his Press Secretary, Christian Aburime which said the members unanimously voted to elect the governor as the Party leader, during the Party’s NEC meeting held at the International Convention Centre in Awka.
“The certificate was formally presented to Governor Soludo by the National Chairman of the Party, Ozonkpu Victor Oye in the presence of all the NEC members,”he said.
Governor Soludo, upon receiving the certificate, stated that it was a great pleasure, with a sense of humility and gratitude to God, to humbly accept the honour of being the national leader of APGA.
“This has humbled me! I’m feeling the weight of history right now. The APGA is a coalition of all progressives.”
He added that he felt the weight of those who have sacrificed their lives to ensure the survival of the party.
