The Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Dr. Paul Eneche, has urged political leaders to prioritise citizens’ welfare and develop infrastructure for society’s growth.

Dr. Eneche gave the charge when he paid a visit to representatives of the government of Cross River State in southern Nigeria.

The Senior Pastor, who was in the company of his wife, Dr. Becky and his team, said that the purpose of his visit to Calabar, the capital of Cross River State, was in continuation of the Dunamis global healing and deliverance crusade.

Enenche, who expressed gratitude to God for the opportunity to visit Cross River, acknowledged the warm reception the government accorded him and his team courtesy of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Cross River Chapter.

He urged the Cross River State government to seek God’s grace and guidance to lead citizens, residents and visitors in line with the will of the divine, stating, “our responsibility here is to release the blessings of God upon this land. When God visits a land, the potentials of the land and its people come alive.

“My admonition to Governor Bassey Otu and his entire team is to govern with the fear of God, prioritise the welfare of the people and lead in a manner that would leave a lasting legacy.”

He further advised the political leaders to make and implement decisions that would serve posterity rather than enrich themselves, families and friends.

Responding, the Cross River State deputy governor, Dr. Peter Odey, who received Pastor Enenche and his team on behalf of Governor Otu described the visit as one ordained by God.

Odey informed the clergy that the administration of Governor Otu, which is focused on the People First, swung into action with a state-wide dedication and thanksgiving to the almighty.

He said, “I must tell you that from the day Governor Otu was sworn into office, he dedicated Cross River State to God. So, Governor Jesus is the true governor of Cross River State.

“We also hold a quarterly solemn assembly. This prayer session has significantly impacted the state. As a result, we have improved security. Our internally generated revenue (IGR) has also increased and our infrastructure enhanced. Overall, we are beginning to see socio-economic development.”

He urged the clergy to continue to pray for the governor, other government officials and the people of Cross River State as well as Nigeria in general.

Present at the visit were the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Emmanuel Ironbar, a cross-section of the executive council and others.
