The inductees are of the 2023/2024 session, also known as the “IMPERIUM 22”. Five out of the inductees graduated with distinction, while 47 graduated with pass grade level.

In his welcome address, the Provost of the school, Prof. Ademola Oremosu, expressed confidence that the inductees’ lives at the CMUL have laid a great foundation for them to build their careers and lives.

Oremosu said that CMUL strives to build professional men and women of character and courage who would change the face of healthcare and physiotherapy profession in Nigeria.

He, however, appealed to the inductees to stay back to build Nigeria, adding that this would break the “Japa” syndrome that has adversely created a brain drain in the sector.

The Induction Speaker, Mrs Adaku Nwachuku, Deputy Director, Head of Physiotherapy, Sports Medicine Department, National Sports Commission, Lagos Zone, urged the inductees to embrace lifelong learning.

Nwachuku said that healthcare is an ever-evolving field, constantly embracing new research, techniques and technologies.

She appealed to the inductees to embrace evolution with curiosity and a commitment to continuous growth.

Also speaking, Dr Chris Okafor, Chairman of the Students Affairs and Ceremonies Committee, Physiotherapy Department, CMUL, congratulated and commended the inductees for excelling in their careers.

Okafor said they are motivated to exhibit their knowledge, having spent seven years instead of five years because of strike and COVID-19.
