Commander Seeks Community Support To End Insecurity

The Commander, 119 Composite Group of the Nigerian Air Force, Sokoto, Group Captain Harri Gumut, has called for collective efforts and the support of the people, particularly those in host communities, to sustain the fight against security challenges in the country.

Group Captain Gumut, made the call while speaking after Juma’at prayers as part of activity commemorating Armed Forces celebration and remembrance day 2026 at 119 composite group central mosque in sokoto state.

According to him, this year’s celebration with the theme: “Valour, Sacrifice, and Unity: Honouring Our Heroes,” highlights the professionalism, role and sacrifices of the Nigerian Armed Forces in the current national security landscape.

The Commander represented by Chief Imam of 119 Composite Group Juma’at Mosque, Squadron leader Muhammad Umar Ibrahim, thanked Nigerians for their support and prayers to Nigerian Air Force in addressing various security challenges across the country.

“With your support and prayers Nigerian Air Force have been succeeding and we will continue to succeed.

“Continue to supply us with credible intelligence report to enable us deal with these criminals at all times.

“We appreciate your support especially the host community and insha Allah Nigerian Air Force would not rest until we bring back security in to our society, the state and the country as a whole,” Group Captain Gumut said.

He noted that Nigerian Air Force achieved a lots and will continue to sustain onslaught to safeguard the country from all forms of criminality.

He commended the airmen and airwomen on high standards of professionalism and discipline display at all time in the discharge of their constitutional mandate.

Gumut appealed to communities to support armed forces with credible candidates during recruitment process for sustained security in the country.

He appreciated the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, and other leadership of the service for their unwavering commitment and support to the 119 composite group at all time.

The Commander called on them to continue to cooperate with the 119 Composite Unit for sustainable peace and security of the state and the nation.

The Chief Imam prayed extensively to Almighty Allah for restoration of peace and security across the country.

The prayer was attended by officers and soldiers of the Nigerian Air Force as well as host community.
