Commendable Turn out in Ondo Polls as Voting ends

Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, have begun counting and collating results at the different polling units across Ondo State.

 

The election was generally peaceful and rancour free.

 

According to the Independent National Electoral Commission, over 1.7 million PVCs were collected while 303,000 voters cards were not collected.

 

The total number of Polling Units is 3,933 and the total number of Registration Area(RA) is 203.

 

There was massive turn out at various polling units in Ondo state following an early turn out of residents to participate in today’s Presidential and National Assembly elections holding across the 18 Local Government Areas of the State.

 

Many trekked long distances following the restriction on vehicular movements to get to their polling units on time for accreditation.

 

Vehicles of security agents patrolled the streets to maintain law and order as well, as those on essential duty were the only ones plying the roads.

 

At Ondo east, west and Akure north local government areas of the state, election officials were also seen at their duty posts carrying out their responsibility diligently.

 

At the different polling units voters maintained law and order as they exercised their franchise.

 

Election materials arrived at different polling units on time and the election commenced, accreditation and voting was done almost simultaneously across the State.
