Commission mobilises thousands for 2021 pilgrimage

The Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission, NCPC says it is set to mobilise about ten thousand pilgrims for the 2021 polgrimage to israel.

 

The Executive Secretary of the NCPC, Reverend Dr Yakubu Friday made this known  at a four day retreat organised by the commission in Nasarawa state.

According to him, the retreat would help to prepare staff of the Commission towards mobilising a higher number of pilgrims for the 2021 edition.

 

Invitation from Israel
The Executive Secretary explained that the commission already received an invitation from the Israeli government regarding the 2021 pilgrimage expected to take place at the end of the year.

 

“We have received an invitation to come over to Israel to discuss on this year’s Christian pilgrimage.

“I will not make any official statement now until we finish every discussion with them on the covid19 protocol”,  he said.

 

 

The 2020 edition which was shifted till July 2021 had pilgrims who only visited the Kingdom of Jordan after the Israeli government placed a ban on pilgrimage  to Israel due to restrictions occasioned by Covid-19.
