Community appreciates Nigerian Army on Peace Keeping

The people of Abuloma kingdom in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, have expressed their appreciation to the Nigerian Army for maintaining peace in their kingdom.

The King of Abuloma, His Royal Highness (HRH), Brigadier General Bright Fibionumama (rtd), expressed appreciation to the Nigerian Army (NA) and the Chief of Army Staff(COAS), Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja when the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 6 Division, Nigerian Army, Major General Jamal Abdussalam paid him homage at his palace in Abuloma, Rivers State.

A statement by the Acting Deputy Director, of Army Public Relations, 6 Division Nigerian Army, Major Danjuma Jonah said King Fibionumama appreciated the GOC for the visit and for the recognition by the Nigerian Army as a retired personnel. He used the medium to inform the GOC that, his kingdom will continue to support the Nigerian Army in discharging its constitutional responsibilities.

The visit he said has opened a new vista of relationship between his kingdom and the Nigerian Army. He further stated that the Barracks community in Port Harcourt, and indeed the Division will always be a part of the Abuloma kingdom which he said, will strengthen the ties between the Nigerian Army and his kingdom.

Earlier, the General Officer Commanding and /Land Component Commander, of Joint Task Force, South-South, Operation DELTA SAFE stated that on the assumption of command, he considered it very necessary to visit critical stakeholders, as part of his key leadership engagement drive to pay his respect to the royal highness.

The GOC said he was at the palace to seek royal blessings and guidance in discharging his responsibility in line with the command philosophy of the Chief of Army Staff.
He described the king as a seasoned senior officer who has made his mark in the Nigerian Army.

He reiterated that as young officers back in the day, they were always looking up to him as a role model. The visit had in attendance a council of chiefs in Abuloma kingdom, the Commander 6 Division Garrison, Brigadier General Edet Effiong and some commanders of 6 Division affiliated formations.
