A Community Club, Offa Metropolitan Club (OMC), has officially commenced activities at it’s new multimillion Naira ultramodern health facility in Offa, Kwara State, North Central Nigeria.
According to the President of the Club, Lawal Rabana SAN the facility was built as part of their efforts to foster development and uplift the living standard of the people and also complement the efforts of the state government in the provision of healthcare services to the people.
Rabana said, “As a club, our mission has always been to foster development and uplift the living standard of our people and the establishment of this facility is a testament to our commitment and our vision and it is meant to complement the effort of the government in the provision of healthcare.
“This facility will serve as a hub for quality healthcare services, offering medical treatment that is accessible and affordable to the people.”
The President further described the facility as a beacon of hope for the present and future generations.
“This facility is not just a building but a beacon of hope for the present and future generations,” he added.
The President disclosed that the facility which was built in 2022 at a cost of 350 million Naira, now worth over 1 billion Naira with the medical equipment and furnishings that have been put in place since the completion of physical structure in 2022.
Rabana noted that the medical centre will provide healthcare treatments that are accessible, affordable, and timely for the people of Offa and by extension also serve neighbouring communities and states in search of quality medicare.
He equally unveiled the plan to offer free basic care to the first 100 patients who visit the facility.
According to him, the club has set aside a significant pool of funds to offer subsidised healthcare treatment through the OMC Medical Insurance Scheme on an ongoing basis for some deserving members of the community.
The gathering was attended by people from all walks of life including community leaders such as the Eesa of Offa, High Chief Yunus Bukoye; Ojomu of Offa, High Chief Joseph Bayo Akinola along with other traditional honourary title holders.
The Vice President of the club, Aare (Dr) Waheed Olagunju, whilst giving the vote of thanks, expressed OMC’s profound appreciation to the esteemed invited guests and community leaders.
