Court Declines Anyanwu’s Stay of Execution In PDP National Secretary Case

The Supreme Court of Nigeria has refused to grant a stay of Execution to Samuel Anyawu even after an Appeal Court Judgment had removed him from office and paving the way for Udeh Okoye to fully assume office as PDP National Secretary.

The Supreme Court sitting in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital ruled on three things:
1.Granted Motion for accelerated hearing as requested by Anyanwu.

2. Supreme Court refused to grant Stay of Execution on the subsisting judgement of the Court of Appeal, Enugu Division which pronounced Udeh Okoye as PDP National Secretary.

3. Adjourned the matter of PDP National Secretary for hearing and final verdict on 10th of March, 2025.

The battle for the seat of National Secretary of the PDP is one crisis too many for the opposition party seeking to unseat the ruling APC in up-coming general election.

The Supreme Court eventually ruling on the matter would be a blessing and afford the party the chance to face other internal discord.
