Court grants Sowore N20m bail

A magistrate sitting in Abuja, Nigeria’s Capital has granted bail to Mr. Omoleye Sowore in the sum of twenty million Naira and two sureties, one must be a  Federal Civil servant not below the rank of level 12, residing in Abuja.

It would be recalled that Mr. Sorowe and five others were arrested by the Nigerian Police on a 3 count charge bordering alleged unlawful assembly and incitement.

Though ruling on the bail application was stalled due to the inability of the police to produce the defendants in court at the last adjourned date.
Counsel to the Mr. Sowore, Marshal Abubakar,  asked the court to grant bail to his clients on self recognisance or in the alternative, on liberal terms.

 

The Magistrate, Mabel Segun-Bello, consequently ordered that they be remanded at the Correctional centre until the bail conditions are met.
