COVID-19: Africa records over 20m vaccinations

As of May 23, confirmed cases of Covid-19 from 55 African countries reached 4,748,002 while over 20,248,590 vaccinations have been administered across the continent.

Reported deaths in Africa reached 128,192 and 4,292,139 people have recovered. South Africa has the most reported cases – 1,632,571 – and 55,772 people died. Other most-affected countries are Morocco ( 516,812 ), Tunisia ( 334,901 ), Ethiopia ( 268,520 ), Egypt ( 252,690 ), Libya ( 182,899 ) and Kenya ( 168,108 ).
