The Niger State Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello, has received the second jab of Astrazenece Covid-19 vaccine, as the State flags off the second dose exercise.

The Governor, his Deputy and members of the State Executive Council were vaccinated at the Government house in Minna the State Capital on Wednesday.
The Governor was impressive with the turn out for the first phase of the vaccine and encouraged those that were earlier vaccinated to ensure they receive the second jab.
He further enjoined those who are yet to take the first dose to do so, saying the vaccine is safe.
“I want to assure everyone that the vaccine is safe. I encourage you to take it, it will keep you and your loved ones safe. The older ones especially should take it,” he added.
The Niger State Commissioner for Health and Hospital Services, Dr. Muhammad Sidi, said there were enough vaccines on ground, stating that all eligible persons for the second dose will be administered.
”The Niger State had so far received the total of 89,600 doses and only 44,860 were used in the first phase and enough doses are available for the second phase exercise of the vaccination,” Dr Sidi.
He confirmed 10 deaths resulting from Covid-19, saying the state has so far, 930 positive cases including 66 health workers.
The Niger State Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello, who received the first dose of the Jab on the 9th of March, 2021, has directed his Executive to be vaccinated or to stay away from the weekly Council meetings.
