COVID-19: Nigeria confirms 1305 new cases

Nigeria has confirmed 1305 new cases of the deadly coronavirus also known as COVID-19.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC confirmed the cases on Saturday night via its official Facebook page.

The NCDC explained that the new cases were recorded from 14 States- “Lagos-705, Oyo-234, Ondo-88, Kaduna-79, Rivers-78, Ogun-30, Anambra-25, Kano-24, Enugu-12, Ekiti-11, Jigawa-6, Osun-6, Plateau-6, Zamfara-1”

“Today’s report includes 79 confirmed cases reported from Kaduna state for 24th (59) & 25th (20) December, 12 confirmed & 16 discharged cases reported from Enugu state for 24th December, 25 confirmed cases reported from Anambra state for 24th December, 6 confirmed cases reported from Jigawa state for 24th December, 1 confirmed case reported from Zamfara state for 23rd December, 20 discharged cases reported from Kaduna state for 24th (10) & 25th (10) December, Backlog of deaths reported from Kaduna (4) and Imo (16) States, 0 cases reported from Bauchi and Sokoto States,” NCDC explained.

These latest figures bring the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 236,014 with 212,357 discharged and 3,014 COVID-19 related deaths.
