COVID-19: Nigeria confirms 2123 new cases

Nigeria has confirmed 2123 new cases of the deadly coronavirus also known as COVID-19.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC confirmed the cases on Wednesday morning via its official Facebook page.

The NCDC explained that the new cases were recorded from 11 States- “Lagos-1552, FCT-197, Edo-155, Rivers-81, Delta-44, Plateau-33, Kwara-30, Kano-16, Enugu-12, Gombe-2, Bauchi-1.”

Today’s report includes 33 confirmed cases and 10 discharges reported from Plateau state for 20th December 2021, 12 confirmed cases reported from Enugu state for 20th December 2021, 0 cases reported from Sokoto State” the NCDC added.

These latest figures bring the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 227,378 with 211,761 discharged and 2,989 COVID-19 related deaths.
