COVID-19: Nigeria records 938 new cases

Nigeria has recorded 938 new COVID-19 cases bringing the total confirmed cases in the country to 143,516.

This was contained in a report published by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Thursday night. The new cases were recorded in 20 states with Lagos leading with 236 new infections.

The NCDC also added that 8 deaths were recorded in the past 24 hours.

According to the agency, “On the 11th of February 2021, 938 new confirmed cases and 8 deaths were recorded in Nigeria.

“Till date, 143516 cases have been confirmed, 118012 cases have been discharged and 1710 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

“Our discharges today include 536 community recoveries in Lagos State managed in line with guidelines.

“The 938 new cases are reported from 20 states- Lagos (236), FCT (123), Plateau (92), Benue (63), Katsina (53), Oyo (50), Osun (45), Kaduna (43), Edo (33), Ogun (31), Ebonyi (31), Akwa Ibom (30), Kano (26), Gombe (18), Bauchi (16), Delta (12), Imo (11), Cross River (10), Rivers (10), Niger (5).

“A multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, continues to coordinate the national response activities.”
