Covid-19: Saudi Arabia lifts travel ban on Nigeria

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has uplifted the direct travel ban from Nigeria into country, effective from the 5th of March 2022.

In a statement, the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON’s Head of Public Affairs, Hajiya Fatima Usara, said the commission received the news through a circular released by General Authority for Civil Aviation, In Abuja the nation’s capital.

She said other banned countries have also been permitted to travel directly into Saudi Arabia as long as they fulfil the mandatory vaccines requirement.

As a result, the NAHCON Chairman, Alhaji Zikirullah  Hassan, rejoices with multitudes of Muslims all over the world, Nigeria in particular, for the normalization of worship in the two Holy mosques in Makkah and Madinah.

The chairman said with the heightened hope that international Hajj would be open in the 2022, NAHCON is seizing this opportunity to inform the public that guidelines for participation in the Hajj shall be communicated to Nigerian intending pilgrims after signing of the MoU between NAHCON and the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.
