Cricket: Six Nigerians Set For Uganda Elite Games
The Uganda Cricket Association has granted six slots to Nigeria’s national cricket players to participate in the prestigious Uganda Elite Games, after Team Nigeria’s remarkable performance in the ICC Women’s T2O Africa Qualifiers in Uganda.
The Elite Games in Kampala is set to take place from February 1st – 4th, 2024, for the Women’s event and 5th – 13th for the Men’s event.
The Federation has endorsed players Isaac Okpe, Chiemelie Udekwe and Isaac Danladi for the Men’s Team, while Lucky Piety, Eseigbe Favour and Etim Sarah will showcase their skills for the Females.

This initiative is part of a High-Performance program aiming to provide Nigerian cricketers with opportunities to compete in elite leagues across the top cricket-playing nations in the continent.
In addition to serving as preparation for the upcoming Nigeria Female Invitational in Lagos from February 25th – 3rd March, the event also acts as a crucial developmental phase for players gearing up for the 13th African Games.
The African Games is scheduled to hold in Ghana from March 5th.
Cricket will be featuring for the first time at the African Games, with Nigeria participating in both the male and female events based on their T20 ranking.
