A stakeholder in the education sector and Proprietor of Saleem Academy a private primary and Secondary School in Lugbe Abuja Nigeria’s capital, Audu Ali Abraham has called for the inclusion of more indigenous languages in basic to junior secondary schools.
He made the call during Saleem Academy’s Annual Cultural Day with the theme “Cultural Integration: A Tool for Unity in Diversity.“
Abraham underscored the significance of cultural integration, stating that the school instituted a special day nine years ago to enable students to learn and embrace the diverse cultures of Nigeria.
Miss Abisemi Emmanuel, Chairperson of the Cultural Day, lauded the students’ performances, showcasing vibrant traditional attires representing all geopolitical zones of the country.
She expressed her belief that recognizing Nigeria’s diverse culture contributes to a sense of belonging and shared identity.
The Chairman of the School Parents Teachers Association, Alhaji Mustaoha Shettima Pindar, expressed gratitude to parents for supporting their children in the cultural display.
