The Nigeria Customs Service has carried out a leadership transition at the Kwara Area Command, with the outgoing Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Faith Mathew Ojeifo, formally handing over to the incoming Acting Area Controller, DC Najeem Akanmu Ogundeyi.
Speaking during the handover, Comptroller Ojeifo expressed appreciation to officers and men of the Command, sister security agencies, and stakeholders for their cooperation throughout his tenure.

“Together, we recorded commendable achievements in revenue generation, enforcement, and service delivery,” he said.
Ojeifo said he had “absolute confidence in the leadership capacity, experience, and professionalism” of the Acting Area Controller, urging officers and men to accord him maximum support, loyalty, and cooperation.
“I remain grateful to the Comptroller-General of Customs for the opportunity to serve, and I wish the Kwara Command continued peace, progress, and operational excellence,” he added.

In his response, the Acting Area Controller expressed appreciation to the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, and the management team for the opportunity to serve the nation in the capacity.

He also commended Comptroller Faith Mathew Ojeifo (rtd) for his “outstanding dedication, professionalism, and exemplary leadership” while in office, noting that his commitment to duty and discipline had laid a solid foundation for the Command.

“As I assume this office, I am fully aware of the responsibilities and challenges it entails. I do not take this assignment lightly, and I am committed to upholding the standards, values, and excellence of the Service,” Ogundeyi said.
He emphasised that his leadership would be driven by teamwork, professionalism, transparency, and discipline and would be anchored on mutual respect, strict adherence to rules and regulations, and effective service delivery.
Calling on officers and personnel to extend to him the same level of cooperation accorded to his predecessor, the acting controller expressed confidence in the command’s collective strength.
“Together, we shall work diligently to sustain existing achievements, address emerging challenges, and advance the progress of this Command,” he said.
