The co-founder of Cutix PLC (a wire and cable-manufacturing company) and Nigeria’s one-time Ambassador to Burundi, Amb. Okwudili Nwosu, has urged investors to explore the vast opportunities in Southeast Nigeria, assuring them of the region’s improved security and promising business environment.
Amb. Nwosu made the appeal at the unveiling ceremony of Cutix PLC as the official sponsor of Onye Afia TV Season 2, a 30-minute weekday talk show dedicated to celebrating Igbo business excellence, innovation, and culture.
Speaking held at the Cutix’s Headquarters in Nnewi, a commercial and industrial city in Anambra State, Amb. Nwosu highlighted the collaborative efforts among security agencies, community leaders, and stakeholders in ridding the Southeast of criminals and kidnappers.

Amb. Nwosu, a seasoned diplomat—Nigeria’s one-time Ambassador to Burundi (2012 – 2015)—and a respected entrepreneur expressed concern over the negative portrayal of the Southeast in media narratives.
“I always get disturbed when people talk about insecurity in the Southeast because the region is much safer compared to many parts of Nigeria. While insecurity hinders development elsewhere, the Southeast remains one of the safest zones in the country,” he stated emphatically.
He called on the media and relevant organisations to actively promote the true security situation in the Southeast to counter false narratives that discourage investment and growth.
A Strategic Partnership
The event also marked the launch of a strategic partnership between Cutix PLC and the Enugu State-based Afia TV, Southeastern Nigeria’s first regional television channel on DSTV ch.254 and GOTV ch.17, dedicated to promoting the business, lifestyle and cultural stories of the region across the world.
The platform aims to challenge stereotypes by showcasing real stories of ambition, survival, and entrepreneurial spirit among the Igbo people.
Mrs Ijeoma Oduonye, the CEO of Cutix PLC, described the partnership with Afia TV as a lasting “marriage,” built on a shared mission to illuminate and empower.
“Cutix is driven by a vision to become a leading global provider of electrical energy and products, built on innovation and exceptional standards since 1982.
Our partnership with Afia TV is about nurturing homegrown talent and telling our own stories — this relationship is here to stay,” she affirmed.
Chief Emeka Mba, the Managing Director and CEO of Afia TV, expressed his excitement about the collaboration, promising extensive promotion of Cutix across multiple platforms, including the social media, radio, television, and billboards.

“Afia TV is proud to serve as the chief marketing officer for the Southeast. With Cutix’s support, we aim to add significant value to the region and expand our reach,” he said.
The launch ceremony was well attended by dignitaries, including the Brand Manager of Onye Afia TV, Vera Chidimma Okoh; and the show’s anchor, Odera Collins.
Collins emphasised that Onye Afia TV seeks to amplify voices from grassroots entrepreneurs and business leaders, revealing the untapped potential of the Igbo people.
“Our mission is to redefine Igbo identity positively by telling authentic stories that highlight talent and professionalism, countering the negative stereotypes often portrayed,” she said.
Onye Afia TV is set to premiere on 7 July 2025, airing daily on DSTV Channel 254, GOTV Channel 17, and Free TV Channel 748, promising to be a significant cultural and business platform in the Southeast.
In their remarks, the Head of Commerce at Cutix PLC, Ada Ikebuilo, and Chukwuemeka Obinwugo, founder of Ijele Tea, praised the partnership for its potential to promote regional development and entrepreneurial growth.
