Data base: Ministry Enumerates Business Premises In Kaduna

Kaduna State Ministry of Business, Innovation and Technology has begun enumerating business premises in the state.

Speaking at a stakeholders meeting in Kaduna, the Commissioner, Mrs Patient Fakai disclosed that, the exercise was to ensure comprehensive and up-to-date database of all businesses operating across the state.

She added that the initiative would impact the landscape of business operations in the state.

According to Fakai, “with the evolving economic environment, it is essential that Kaduna state have a comprehensive and up-to-date database of all businesses operating within and its borders”.

She explained that the database would serve as the foundation for an automated registration platform designed to streamline the registration process and provide numerous benefits to business community.

According to her, the Ministry has envisioned a system that not only enhances transparency and accessibility, but also foster growth and innovation.

“By creating a centralized business
directory, we aim to facilitate networking opportunities, support local enterprises, and attract potential investors to our state,” Fakai stressed.

The Commissioner noted that the initiative is not just about registration, but building a thriving ecosystem where businesses can flourish.

She therefore encouraged all business owners and stakeholder to cooperate fully with the enumerators.

She also urged them to embrace the initiative with an open mind and a spirit of collaboration.

Earlier, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr yusuf Saleh said the engagement was to enlighten the businesses and other stakeholder on the ministry’s initiative.

He mentioned that the Ministry needed to have the data base of formal and informal businesses in the state across all the Senatorial zones so that they could enjoy some benefits from the state government.

Saleh explained that having the data base would ease the Ministry in locating businesses when the need for assistance from the state government arise.

He recalled that Governor Uba Sani who recently initiated a program, “Akori Talauchi”, aimed at supporting the nano and small businesses in the informal sector.

Also, the Director, Business Services of
Osoft Integrated Resources Limited,
Mr. Samuel Anyafulu said they were in partnership with the Ministry via a contract with the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service.

He explained that the contact was to build a centralised data base for the benefit of businesses in kaduna state.

Describing Kaduna as a center of excellence and also of business activities, Anyafulu said it was critical for businesses in the state to be exposed to other parts of the country.
