Davido, Ayra Starr congratulate Tems, Chris Brown on their Grammy victory
Nigerian music superstars Davido, Ayra Starr, and fans of the sensational singer Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, have celebrated her remarkable win at the 2025 Grammys, where she secured the prestigious Best African Music Performance award.

Tems made history at the 67th Grammy Awards on Sunday in Los Angeles by winning the award for her song Love Me Jeje.
Significantly, she was the only African artist to receive three nominations in the global music categories. Her debut album, Born in the Wild, was nominated for Best Global Music Album, while her song Burning earned a nod for Best R&B Song.

Tems triumphed in a highly competitive category dominated by Nigerian artists, surpassing strong contenders such as Burna Boy, Davido, and Asake.
Other Nigerian stars who received Grammy nominations included Yemi Alade, Rema, and Jordan Adetunji.
Tems, who dedicated the award to her mother, expressed her gratitude, saying, “Dear God, thank you so much for putting me on this stage and bringing me this team.”
Her historic win has sparked excitement across social media, with fans and supporters flooding various platforms with congratulatory messages.
Among those celebrating her achievement were fellow Nigerian artists Davido and Ayra Starr, who took to their X pages to share their joy.
Davido wrote: “Congratulations to my one and only @chrisbrown! And to the Queen @temsbaby, we are proud of you!”
Ayra Starr also cheered her on, posting: “Temssbabyyyyyyy congratulations my love!!!!”
Fans of the Love Me Jeje singer also joined in the celebration, with one user, @ekemini_kent, commenting: “Congratulations, Queen.”
VON Reports indicate that this marks Tems’ second Grammy win, making her the most awarded Nigerian artist in Grammy history.
Her first Grammy came in 2023 when she won Best Melodic Rap Performance for Wait For U, a collaboration with American hip-hop stars Future and Drake.
