Davido Becomes First African Artist on Rolling Stone Cover
Nigerian superstar Davido has made history as the first living artist to grace the cover of Rolling Stone Africa magazine.

This milestone comes as part of the promotional rollout for his highly anticipated fifth album, Five, set for release on April 18, 2024.
At his album listening party, Davido revealed that the project will feature 13 guest artists, including Victony, Musa Keys, and Victoria Monét.
Among the previously confirmed collaborations is YG Marley, who appears on the single ‘Awuke’. Chike and OdumoduBlvck also join Davido on ‘Funds’.
‘5ive’ is set to include a collaboration with Adekunle Gold, as well as Omah Lay, who described their song as a “perfect partnership” in a recent interview.
During a Twitch live stream with Nigerian alternative music star and content creator Cruel Santino, Davido gave fans a sneak peek at two tracks from his upcoming album, ‘5ive’.

One of the songs he previewed was produced by his longtime collaborator Shizzi, known for crafting some of Davido’s biggest hits, including the career-defining smash ‘Dami Duro’.
During the live stream, Davido explained the meaning behind his upcoming album title, ‘Five’ and revealed that veteran producer Selebobo contributed to one of the tracks.
Originally set for release on March 15, 2025, the album has now been pushed back to April 18.
2025 has already been a milestone year for Davido. He secured his fifth Grammy nomination at the 67th Grammys, earning a nod for Best African Song Performance for his feature on Chris Brown’s ‘Sensational’. Additionally, he received five nominations at the upcoming 17th Headies, including Artist of the Year.
