The Leadership of Dawanau West Africa Grains Market located in Kano state North West Nigeria has commended Nigeria’s President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the approval of petroleum supply to Republic of Niger.

Recalled that, despite tense relations between Nigeria and the Republic of Niger, President Bola Tinubu has recently approved the delivery of 300 trucks of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to Niger, when the country turned to Nigeria for assistance after being hit by serious fuel shortage.

Speaking on the development in an interview with Voice of Nigeria in Kano, the Deputy President Dawanau West Africa Grains Market Alhaji Baba Umaru Wawu said, “the position Nigerian leader took in providing succour to Niger Republic, shows his commitment to a broader African vision of compassion and benevolence”.

Wawu noted that, Tinubu’s actions on Nigerians is a clear indication of a united Africa that share pains and joy of each other despite tense relations that can be resolved through dialogue.

He said, “I’m so happy with the assistance rendered to our big neighbor the Republic of Niger by Baba Tinubu. Whatever Niger junta think about Nigeria before it has now become a thing of the past.”

This assistance will reduce the fuel scarcity in Niger and it will help in reducing bringing down prizes of goods in the country.”

He said, Niger deserve every assistance from Nigeria in view of the predicaments calling on the Nigerian leader to do more when the need arises.

Speaking on business relations between Nigeria and the Republic of Niger before now, the Dawanau Market leader described it as smooth and cordial.

He however lamented the current business relationship with Niger as the country placed embargo on some goods into Nigeria.

“Presently, there some goods that Niger stopped from entering the Nigeria, but Nigeria did not stop anything from going to Niger.”

Alhaji Baba Wawu called on the Nigerien authorities to do something about and free flow of goods from the country.
