Defence Headquarters,Zakclair Investments collaborate to promote National security

The Defence Headquarters in collaboration with Zakclair Investment Limited have organized three days conference to strengthen cordial relationship between the Nigerian Armed Forces and the Organization towards promoting national security.

The Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabor represented by the Chief of Civil Military-Cooperation, Defence Headquarters, Rear Admiral Adeseye Ayobanjo, at the opening ceremony of the three days conference with the theme enhancing journalist- military cooperation in checking insecurity at the Nigerian Army Resource Center.

Rear Admiral Ayobanjo said the Nigerian Military has been charged with the responsibility to defend the territorial integrity of the nation.

According to him, to address the challenges bedeviling the country, Nigerian Armed Forces requires support of the media practitioners.

The Chief Executive Officer, Zakclair Investment Limited, Mr Adelabu Abdulrazak said that the conference is necessary to create positive conflict reporting by cooperating with the military and other stakeholders in changing the narratives of reporting that will serve the interest of the nation.

Mr Abdulrazak added that the conference also cooperates to ensure positive impact on conflict reporting to the public,stating that the stakeholders to encourage future robust   discussions on the issue and adopt professional ethics that will support the present interface.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the Occasion, and the Lead Panelist, Retired Major General Chris Olukolade said the seminar would bridge the gap between the Nigerian Military and the media towards improving peace and security in the country.

While appreciating the initiatives for organizing the event, the chairman added that it also serves as an input to address the menace of security challenges facing the country.
