Deployment: NYSC warns Tertiary Institutions not to compromise mobilization process

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC ) has warned Tertiary institutions not to send data of unqualified graduates for deployment.

The Director-General of the agency, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim gave the warning at the 2021 Batch ‘C’ Pre-Mobilization Workshop themed; “Enhancing Stakeholders Roles for a Credible Mobilization Process,” which was organised for Student Affairs Officers, Data Entry Officers and Deployment and Relocation Officers from NYSC formations across the country held in Abuja.

The Director-General noted that the role of Data Entry Officers and SAOs cannot be underestimated, therefore the integrity of the Data Entry Officers would facilitate a credible mobilization process.

Ibrahim urged the officers to desist from sharp practices capable of undermining the mobilization process, even though there is improvement in data entry records compared to previous years.

He further emphasised that the ongoing reforms in the mobilization process is in tandem with other aspects of NYSC operations, and is therefore in line with the Scheme’s quest to sustain its relevance which is indisputable.

The NYSC boss also called for improved synergy between the NYSC and her Stakeholders for an enhanced strategy to achieve success in the forthcoming 2021 Batch ‘C’ Orientation Course.

Earlier in her welcome address, the Director, Corps Mobilization Department, Mrs Victoria Ango said the Pre-Mobilization Workshop was instituted by NYSC Management to bring the representatives of all Corps Producing institutions to a roundtable discussion on how to eliminate flaws and strengthen the fabrics of the routine enlistment of Prospective Corps Members for National Service.
