DEPOWA Holds workshop on Visioning, Planning for women

The National President of the Defence and Police Officers Wives Association (DEPOWA), Mrs. Oghogho Musa, has organized a visioning and planning workshop programme for wives of military personnel to help them achieve their individual dreams in Abuja.

Represented by Mrs. Helen Kangye, the DEPOWA President said the empowering workshop is aimed at creating balance and fulfillment of their lives as women which will lead to the realization of their visions and aspirations.

“As we embark on this journey together, it is imperative to acknowledge the complex roles many of us shoulder as modest wife professionals and caretakers when I see the demands of work, family and personal growth can often feel like an overwhelming task” she said.

According to her, women find themselves entangled in a way of responsibility where they pursue their own dreams that may seem unachievable.

The DEPOWA President said “it is important to note that within each other lies so much untapped potentials” adding that “their coming together to awaken those potentials have been dormant within them.”

According to her, it is against this backdrop that the workshop was organized to address the issue of lack of vision.

 

“It is expected of us to engage in meaningful discussion reflective electrolytes and actionable strategies aimed at empowering each of them to take decisive steps towards our goals again,” she said.

She added that together, they can bring a future that is as rich and vibrant as their imaginations as they embark on the journey of self-discovery and empowerment.

“Together will create a future that is not only bright and promising but also deeply fulfilling and enriching.”

The Resource Person, who is the Founder Vision Academy, Celina Unogwu during the training on Introduction to Personal Visioning says Personal Vision is the process of creating a clear and compelling mental image of what the person wants to achieve or become in the future.

According to her, “this involves defining your purpose, mission, vision, values, and desires for different aspects of life.”

She said that “the importance of personal visioning is a foundation, direction and inspiration which ignites passion and enthusiasm”.

She noted that with focus and prioritization, resilience and adaptability, alignment with values and belief, their dreams will be achieved all foster in achieving one’s dream amongst other points mentioned.
