Nigeria’s Deputy Senate President Senator Barau Jibril has presented 1000 motorcycles to Kano state Police Command to boost operations.
Senator Jibril who represents Kano North Senatorial District presented the keys of the motorcycles to the Kano state Police Commissioner CP Salman Dogo at the Commands headquarters Bumpai Kano.
The Deputy Senate President who underscored the relevance of Police operations in protecting lives and properties said the gesture was aimed at improving community policing as well as nipping insecurity at the bud.
Senator Barau Jibril who pledged continuous support to the Police said, security is a responsibility of all. He urged Nigerians to extend their hands of fellowship to security agencies.
Senator Barau Jibril said, the job of the police should not be underestimated.
He described police job as an act of sacrifice to humanity and patriotism to the nation.
“The intention is that, all the motorcycles will be used to nip the act of criminals in the bud” Jibril warned criminals.
Boosting Police morale
While appreciating the gesture, the Kano Police Commissioner CP Salman Dogo said, the provision of the motorcycles represents a tangible investment in the capabilities and morale of the police officers, in enhancing their operational efficiency and response readiness.
CP Dogo noted that, the unwavering support and generosity underscores the critical importance of collaborative efforts between law enforcement agencies and government leadership in advancing collective mission of serving and safeguarding the people of Kano State.
“The significance of this initiative extends far beyond the motorcycles themselves; it speaks volumes to the profound impact that strategic partnerships and community support can have on the effectiveness and vitality of our law enforcement efforts.”
He urged officers to embrace the motorcycles as tools of service and wield them with pride, professionalism, and a steadfast commitment to upholding the values of integrity, accountability, and respect for the rule of law.
“Let us also leverage this significant investment to forge even stronger bonds with the communities we serve, fostering trust, cooperation, and mutual respect.
“I extend my sincere appreciation to the Deputy Senate President, distinguished Senator Barau I. Jibril, CFR for his visionary leadership and steadfast commitment to supporting the Force, notably, the ongoing construction of modern Police Secondary School, Kabo, facilitation of operational motor vehicles for the Command and renovation of the Command’s Headquarters” he said.
