The Director General of Voice of Nigeria, Mallam Jibrin Baba Ndace, has underscored the importance of fostering positive narratives about the Nigerian armed forces for both domestic and international understanding.
Speaking at the launch of Lieutenant Colonel Zando Danjuma’s book, “My Sojourn and Experience in the Department of Civil-Military Affairs,” Ndace urged journalists covering military affairs to contribute to this narrative through their writing.
The event, which focused on civil-military relationships, featured the book review by Brigadier General Sani Usman Kuka Sheka and drew attention from Major General BA Tsoho, the Commandant of the Nigerian Army Education Corps, as well as serving and retired military officers and traditional rulers.
Mallam Ndace, who has authored three books on insurgency in the northeast as an embedded journalist, commended Lt Col Zando for delving into the intricate sphere of military-civil relations.
He reiterated Voice of Nigeria’s commitment to President Ahmed Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, emphasizing the global dissemination of positive stories about Nigeria in eight languages.
Encouraging everyone to read Lt Col Zando’s book for a better understanding of civil-military dynamics, the DG VON invited the public to share their experiences or thoughts on the topic.
The event marks a pivotal moment in advocating for positive representations and understanding of civil-military relations in Nigeria.
