Nigeria’s Ministry of Defence is set to host the largest gathering of defence industry stakeholders from Nigeria and across Africa in commemoration of the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON) @60.
Ahead of the event expected to bring together 3,000 local and international Defence Industries companies and organisations, the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle is to address the Press ahead of the event in Abuja, Nigeria’s Capital.
A statement by the Director of Information and Public Relations Ministry of Defence Henshaw Ogubike, the Minister said DICON’s 60th Anniversary celebration will showcase its achievements and innovations, as well as strengthen relationships amongst stakeholders.
The theme of the anniversary celebration is: “Future Frontiers in Africa’s Defence Technology”.
The event will focus on investment opportunities, industrial partnerships and future developments in the African defence industry. It will also feature a distinguished faculty of knowledgeable speakers and resource persons from within and outside Africa.
Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu is set to be the Special Guest of Honour at the opening ceremony of the maiden African Defence Industries Conference slated for Wednesday, 14th August 2024, while the President of the Senate is expected to be the Guest of Honour for the Cocktail/ Gala Night, same day.
The Ministry of Defence therefore called companies/ organizations, defence Industry stakeholders, Government officials, Military personnel, commercial exhibitors and industry leaders to participate in celebrating DICON @60 anniversary and maiden Africa Defence Industries Conference.
