Professor Ibrahim Adeyanju, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Galaxy Backbone, has emphasised the company’s commitment to driving digital transformation in Nigeria. He stated that Galaxy Backbone aims to realise this vision by delivering innovative digital services to both the public and private sectors.

Professor Adeyanju made this statement during a courtesy visit to Mallam Jibrin Baba Ndace, the Director General of Voice of Nigeria, at the VON Corporate Headquarters in Abuja, Nigeria.

He said Nigeria’s digital infrastructure has been established to benefit all Nigerians, and the world, while acknowledging that everything has gone digital.

Speaking on the partnership with Voice of Nigeria, he applauded the Director General of Voice of Nigeria for how the organisation has been projecting the country and exporting Nigeria’s perspective to the world.

“We are happy to be associated with the Voice of Nigeria, so we are here to say kudos to the DG for the work he’s been doing at VON and to say, We are proud to be associated with you.

“We want to do more. We want to maybe use VON as well in terms of our publicity.

“The infrastructure we’ve been able to manage is very important, not just for Galaxy Backbone, not just for the MDAs, but I would say for Nigerians in general. We are proud to be able to manage 5,000 kilometres of fibre across 30 states. We have two data centres, one in Abuja and another one in Kano, and a host of other things like our network operating centre, our cybersecurity operating centre, and so on.”

In response, Mallam Jibrin Baba Ndace gave the MD Galaxy Backbone his word that the organisation is dedicated to strengthening its relationship with them.

He stated that because VON broadcasts in eight languages, partnering with them offers a significant advantage in terms of increased reach.

“We must tell our stories, our relevance, and what we bring to the table as Voice of Nigeria; therefore, I offer you the VON platform for the propagation and communication of your activities and events.

“Also make use of the zonal offices whenever you have programmes; our reporters are available to you. We also want more presence in the digital space to propagate our mandate and carry our news to the world from our perspective.

“As MD, you came in and reinforced your commitment to the partnership that we all enjoy. Let me also use this opportunity to assure you on behalf of the staff and management of Voice of Nigeria of our commitment to the existing partnership between Voice of Nigeria and Galaxy Backbone.”

Ndace added, “Voice of Nigeria remains very committed to the partnership and offering here on behalf of management and staff that if you want to start a program today, you have VON as a platform.”
