Directorate of Employment Empowers 178 Ebonyi Residents with SME Skills
The National Directorate of Employment NDE, in Ebonyi State Southeast Nigeria has embarked on training and Empowering Ebonyi Men, Women and youths in the area of Micro Enterprises Scheme MEES, Batik fabric making, Confectionary, among others.

Nuhu Fikpo disclosed this while declaring the training and the empowerment program open at the NDE Conference room in Abakaliki, the State Capital.
The DG who was represented by the NDE State Coordinator, Mr Don Anaba said the total number of the beneficiaries are 178.
“98 persons will benefit from Micro Enterprises Enhancement Scheme MEES, 20 Women will benefit from Batik Fabric making, another 20 Women will benefit from Sourvenaire, while more 20 will benefit from Confectionary and additional 20 will benefit from Crochet making,” Anaba said.
Pastor Anaba encouraged all the participants to take the training serious.
He commended the NDE DG, gor the agency’s efforts, through the Nigerian Government, to curb unemployment in the Country.
The Coordinator further advised all Nigerians not to always depend on government for everything as no government in any part of the world can employ all its Citizenry.
Earlier, the Head of Department HOD, Department of Small Scale Enterprises, Dr Ekea Awa Ekea said “if you can manage what you will be given today , it wil enhance your economic wellbeing.
“This era is no longer about the certificate you have acquired but it is about what you can be able to produce for yourself,” Ekea added.
The NDE Head of Unit, Women Employment Branch,, Mrs Nwizi Martha encouraged the female participants to pay attention on the program as it would aid them in supporting their various families.
Two of the beneficiaries, Mrs Nweke Chinyere and Ogodo Sunday on behalf of others thanked NDE for their efforts to impact meaningfully on the lives of all Nigerians.
