A university don and principal private secretary to the governor of Kaduna state, Professor Bello Ayuba has commended the state governor Ubani Sanni for progress across key sectors despite limited resources.
Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has set unprecedented benchmarks in governance within 18 months, achieving remarkable progress across key sectors despite limited resources.
Professor Ayuba stated this during a media briefing in Kaduna state.
Professor Ayuba highlighted that no previous administration in Kaduna state’s history has matched the swift and transformative achievements of Governor Sani’s tenure.
“This session is not about speeches; it is a platform to share the significant strides made by this administration,” he stated.
Key accomplishments were outlined in infrastructure, health, education, security, and economic development. Ayuba emphasised the administration’s prioritization of rural development, which includes rehabilitating critical infrastructure, revamping healthcare systems, and improving access to quality education.
Security and Peacebuilding
The government has collaborated extensively with federal security agencies, distributing 150 operational vehicles and 500 motorcycles to bolster security operations.
- The signing of the Kaduna State Security Trust Fund Bill into law further reinforces these efforts.
Notably, peace has been restored to areas like Birnin Gwari, where the local market reopened after nearly a decade of inactivity. Security advancements have also revitalized the Kidandan market in Giwa Local Government Area, spurring economic recovery.
Infrastructure and Education
The administration has embarked on 68 road projects spanning 700 kilometres across the state’s three senatorial districts, catalyzing rural development. In education, 62 new secondary schools have been constructed, with approvals secured for 50 more.
Health and Agriculture
Healthcare infrastructure has seen significant improvements, including the remodelling of multiple general hospitals. In agriculture, the “Get Back to the Farm” initiative has supported 42,000 smallholder farmers with inputs and launched a free fertilizer distribution program.
Economic Growth and Social Development
Governor Sani’s administration has prioritized financial inclusion and poverty alleviation. Initiatives include collaborations with Google Africa to empower women and girls, grant schemes for micro-businesses, and a revolving loan program for civil servants.
Kaduna State’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) has also seen substantial growth, reflecting sound economic strategies. Transparency and accountability remain central to governance, as evidenced by Kaduna’s top ranking in the 2024 Integrity Index Report.
A Visionary Future
Professor Ayuba called on the media to amplify the administration’s successes, describing them as the foundation for a transformative era in Kaduna State. “These achievements are just the beginning,” he concluded.
