The leadership ability of Nigeria’s Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, should not be judged based on the present administration’s performance because no administration is perfect in the world.

The Chairman of Professor Yemi Osinbajo’s support group, The Progressives Project TPP, Senator Kabiru Gaya, stated this while speaking with journalists at the TPP Secretariat in Abuja.

Senator Gaya said the vice president’s performance when he acted as president in the President Muhammadu Buhari’s absence makes him the best candidate for the presidency.

THE CHAIRMAN’S REMARK
“No administration has 100 per cent perfection, but when we are in the system, we see the problems, and we will now see the solution to those problems.

“We had many problems in the country before we came into this government, we still have some challenges, and we hope VP Osinbajo’s coming will solve these issues and move us ahead.

“Even running your own house, you don’t get 100 per cent perfection. So all we are saying is that we are trying to do our best. We have seen Nigeria’s problems, but we will solve them.

“We, here at TPP, also feel confident that our candidate’s widely acknowledged qualities stand him out.

“Indeed, as a vice president who has competently held forth for his principal—doing so to the admiration of all sections of this great country- vice president Yemi Osinbajo has a right of first refusal at this crucial point in Nigeria’s history,” Gaya said.

The TPP Chairman stressed the need for politicians and their supporters to desist from campaigns of calumny in this political season in Nigeria. He further added that some past Nigerian presidents supported his ambition.

“We are saying we respect every Nigerian, especially our elders and others who are supporting this Osinbajo team.

“Some of them are even former presidents. So we have many people supporting him and we want to make all these groups come together and form a formidable campaign office for VP Osinbajo,” he said.
