Drug Abuse: NDLEA, Community Groups Partners to Curb Menace in Kano

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has forged stronger partnership with community groups Rano, Kano State North West Nigeria as a proactive effort to combat substance abuse.

The Groups are, Rano Emirates council, Rano Apex development Association and Rano ce a gabanmu’ development Association.

During a recent visit to the Emir of Rano, Alhaji Muhammad Isa Umaru, the Kano State Commandant of the NDLEA, Alhaji Ahmed Idris Ahmed, emphasized the importance of collaboration in addressing the growing challenge of drug abuse.

Represented by the area commander for Rano, Bunkure, Kibiya, and Garko, Alh Muhammad Sani Kabir, the state commandant said, the agency is committed to curb the alarming drug abuse and intake and other substance abuse.

“This partnership will strengthen our effort to Prevent drug abuse and promote rehabilitation.”

He said, the visit aimed to strengthen the existing relationship between the NDLEA and the emirate, fostering a united front against substance abuse in the area.

The NDLEA Commandant explained that the agency is planning to build rehabilitation in Rano local government adding that, pre-election free drug awareness campaign is in the pipeline for successful conduct of forthcoming local government elections in the state.

The emir of Rano, Alh. Muhammad Isa Umaru promised to support the agency in it’s drive to rid the community of escalating issues of drug abuse.
