Dry Season Farming: Ministers Inspect Arrival of Certified Wheat Seeds
The Minister of Agriculture and Food Security (FMAFS), Sen. Abubakar Kyari and Minister of State, (FMAFS), Sen. Dr. Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi have, today, 7th November, inspected the arrival, offloading, and dispatch of certified wheat seeds for the 2023 Dry Season Farming. A program of the federal government of Nigeria.
This development is under the National Agricultural Growth Scheme – Argo-Pocket, NAGS-AG, which aims “to boost locally produced food that will in turn improve household and national food security, build resilience to external shocks and safeguard livelihoods to the benefit of the economy.”
Recall that AgroNigeria had reported that the government would support over 250,000 farmers with relevant farm inputs as part of measures to increase the production of wheat, among other staple crops.
