Club Brugge midfielder, Raphael Onyedika, has been rated the most expensive African in the Belgian Jupilier league.

Onyedika, who joined the Belgian champions last summer from Danish club FC Midtjylland for €5m, is now valued at €13m, following his brilliant start to his career at Jan Breydel Stadium, according to statistic website Transfermarkt.

He is also ranked the fifth most expensive player in the Belgian Jupilier league, behind four of his club teammates Andreas Olsen, Noa Lang, Hans Vanaken and Ferran Jutgla.

Ivoirian defender, Abakar Sylla, is the other African player in the Top 10 list of the most expensive players in Belgium this season.

Since arriving at the club, Onyedika has made 29 appearances and has been cautioned seven times.

His performance for Brugge has seen him linked with a move to the Premier League, with top English clubs reportedly ready to break the bank for the impressive 21-year-old.

A Premier League club wants Onyedika. They are impressed with what he has offered in only his first season in Belgium with Club Brugge.

Onyedika helped Brugge reach the knockout rounds of the UEFA Champions League this term, with his form in Belgium earning him his Super Eagles’ debut against Algeria last year.

Paul Onuachu is the latest Eagles star to move to the Premier League, when he signed for Southampton from another Belgian club Genk last January.

Nigerians Kelechi Iheanacho, Wilfred Ndidi (Leicester City), Frank Onyeka (Brentford), Alex Iwobi (Everton), Joe Aribo (Southampton) and Taiwo Awoniyi and Emmanuel Dennis (Nottingham Forest) also feature in what is considered the best football league in the world.
