As Christians all over the world celebrate Easter, the Nasarawa State Chairman of the Labour Party, Alex Emmanuel Ombugu, has called for prayers for Nigeria over the challenges of insecurity and hardship faced by the citizens.

This was contained in an Easter message signed and made available to journalists in Lafia by the party chairman, Ombugu.

According to him, Christians should use the period for sober reflection and express love to all citizens of the country, especially to the less privileged as exhibited by Jesus Christ.

The Labour Party chairman further explained that for Nigeria to achieve its goals, there was a need to end the divisiveness, intolerance and misunderstandings amongst religious and ethnic groups in the country.

While decrying the hardship faced by Nigerians due to the removal of the petroleum subsidy by the administration of President Tinubu, the Nasarawa LP chairman called on the federal government to intensify efforts towards proffering a lasting solution to the sufferings of the citizens.

He further urged the government to invest more in agriculture in order to ensure food sufficiency for the people.

As Christians all over the world celebrate the death and resurrection of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, I urge all Nigerians to forgive one another and show love to all like Christ did.

“I also urge all citizens of the country to take the Easter celebration as a time for sincere reflections and reconciliation.

“We should pray for our dear state (Nasarawa), and our country Nigeria so that God will give our leaders the ideas to be able to tackle the insecurity and hardship ravaging the nation.

“Jesus Christ taught humility, friendship, leadership and organization with exemplary character. We should learn to be Christ-like in all our day-to-day activities wherever we find ourselves.

“As we celebrate this year’s Easter, it is my prayer that the peace, love, victory and joy, which the death and resurrection of Jesus brought to humanity, shall be the portion now and in every moment of our lives,” Ombugu added.
